With no smooth ground in sight, water (and sometimes far more questionable substitutes) was poured to create mud, transforming pain, laughter, scraped skin, and dirty clothes into an unforgettable day of fun that almost always ended in trouble at home. Rendered in Bulimo’s richly textured, expressive style, the piece celebrates youthful rebellion, resilience, and the joy of play, where the thrill was always worth the inevitable beating.

Accompanying each print is a unique butterfly magnet, born from a transformative recycling initiative in Mathare. These pieces are meticulously crafted by a local community group that breathes new life into discarded plastic.
