Description
Digital Woodcut print on paper A4 size
Childhood memories series.
This playful digital print by Ndunde Bulimo captures the mischievous genius of a childhood game many Kenyan millennials know too well as ‘Slydo’, sliding down steep, rough slopes turned into makeshift playgrounds. With no smooth ground in sight, water (and sometimes far more questionable substitutes) was poured to create mud, transforming pain, laughter, scraped skin, and dirty clothes into an unforgettable day of fun that almost always ended in trouble at home. Rendered in Bulimo’s richly textured, expressive style, the piece celebrates youthful rebellion, resilience, and the joy of play, where the thrill was always worth the inevitable beating.
Accompanying each print is a unique butterfly magnet, born from a transformative recycling initiative in Mathare. These pieces are meticulously crafted by a local community group that breathes new life into discarded plastic. Because of the nature of recycled materials, every magnet features a unique, marbled color palette, ensuring your piece is as individual as the hands that made it.
